Smooth Knees by Temwani O'grady
As much as I love having skin that has natural pigment to it, one of the biggest issues I have is my knees tend to get darker than the rest of my body. However, no one knows this is a problem (I hide it well). Since I was about the age of 14, my mom, taught me how to keep my knees and elbows super light and even with the rest of my body.
She would cut a lemon and rub it on that might need brightening! It worked so well, I thought I would never find anything better! Recently I read that celebrities use the same method but actually add a pinch of sea salt to the lemon half before rubbing! The results? Sooo much more effective! Celebs like Jennifer Lopez use this technique a few weeks before an important event to keep their skin looking perfectly even! Love it!! Super Easy!!!

Look A million Bucks! By Miss Loshaq
I always get ladies asking me how I managed to look like I just been photo-shopped. I as one of the darker skinned women, I usually  find it harder to find products that will do my dark chocolate skin  justice, but, Last year I discovered Estee Lauder…and really looked like a million bucks to all the festive events that I attended. And I entered the 2011 year with a perfect face and women started asking me what I have been using as they could see a whole lotta difference.. So now as they say sharing is caring..I have decided to share with you my faithful readers my new discovery!
So Estee Lauder is a way to go, as it has a wide range of foundation shades you can think of from caramel to the dark dark skin..making your skin look so flawless..
·        Start with Double Wear Foundation, using a foundation Brush starting with your nose and making your way around it and all the way to your face.
·        Mix a bit of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair with a little Double Wear Concealer and pat onto your under the eye so you look refreshed. And then brush the Concealer on the inner and outer eye corners so your eyes look brighter, the apply the Concealer  on your cheekbones to give your eyes an instant lift.
·        Then use Double Wear Powder either loose or the compact one. Then apply over your skin by using side to side technique, repeat if necessary..
·        Then finish up with Estee Lauder Signature Blush on your cheeks and towards your hairline..
·        Then apply any of the Estee Lauder lipstick, I usually go with Moisture Rich color as it it lustrous and makes my lips luscious and irresistible..
·        For the eyes I use, Estee Lauder Signature ( eye shadow quad) during the day and if I am going out at night, I find Double Wear Stay in Place double stick, as it lasts for 15 hours and fights off all that sweating you get when dancing..
·        Then I use Estee Lauder TurboLash (All effects motion Mascara) to create voluptuous eyelashes, I love this as you just turn it on and the brush vibrates creating volume, length and curls.
Dermabrasion good for you facial skin by Temwani O’grady
If you’ve ever tried a dermabrasion for your skin, chances are your skin is baby soft and probably less wrinkled than most women and men out there! Dermabrasion is great for your skin because it helps increase the blood flow and remove dead skin cells, which results in beautifully soft, radiant skin! I’ll be honest, I try to get a deep cleanse as often as possible and this is a great at home quick way to getting smooth skin that you would with a dermabrasion, without any tool! Simply use 2 tablespoons baking soda and mix with a bit of warm water till you have a watery paste. Then, using your hands, massage your face with the formula in a circular motion. Do this for about 2-3 minutes and enjoy it. Relax while you do it! Rinse as usual and follow with your favorite moisturizer! Repeat weekly as needed.

Gorgeous skin tips by Temwani O'grady
I absolutely love to travel like the best of them, but I know that traveling is possibly one of the worst conditions for your skin. Traveling for me is a process when it comes to beauty. You need to make sure you prep your skin before hand, if possible the day before. Here are a few tips for staying gorgeous while you fly! And Remember, if you do breakout, try to keep your skin calm and do not aggravate it! More than likely, you will over dry your skin and lead to more breakouts!
GORGEOUS SKIN TIPS FOR THE JETSETTER:
  1. Try to avoid eating any salty foods the day before you travel and especially while traveling. Also avoid drinks that contain too much sodium like tomato juice or a bloody marry or any on-flight snacks that might be salty
  2. Skip the Foundation and opt for a tinted moisturizer that will keep your skin hydrated and will be easy to apply when necessary (I love the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Tinted Moisturizer)
  3. Always take a hydrating spray. Most companies make them small enough to wear they are airport approved. Make sure you try to mist your skin as needed, I typically try every hour or so. Make sure you also carry a hydrating lip balm ( I love the Dior and Bobbie Brown ) and apply it every half hour or whenever you feel needed
  4. Try to get some rest! While flying, nothing can be harder than changing time zones, especially when going overseas! Making sure you get adequate sleep is essential to arriving fresh and gorgeous
  5. If possible, add a hydrating leave-in conditioner or hair mask to your hair! Keep in mind, your hair can become extremely dry and brittle when flying which means it’s susceptible to damage and breakage! Make sure to keep your hair on lock down too.

Get the softest skin ever (for super dry skin) by Temwani
O’grady

It stinks, but many of us suffer from dry knees and elbows, which means we are prone to darker skin in those areas. While we could simply go to a spa to get treatment in the area, it is soooo not necessary! Like always, most solutions to beauty dilemmas can be found in our kitchen and cost only pennies to make! Mayonnaise has been a beauty go-to for women for years. Some of the most fabulous and gorgeous women have used mayonnaise for hair, skin, and even nails. The egg, oil, milk, in mayo is great for your skin and is a super natural moisturizer. If you suffer from dry knees or elbows, simply apply a little mayo on your dry joints and leave it there for about 15 minutes before wiping with a warm wash cloth. Do this as often as needed for super soft knees and elbows!

IF YOU WANT TO STAY PRETTY ALL DAY....
I believe Exfoliation is the best way to boast your skin when it is looking dull. I normally do Exfoliation on a daily basis, and some people may think Exfoliating your skin everyday it is not a good idea, but I disagree with them. BUT this daily exfoliation should only be applicable if your skin is not sensitive. If you have a sensitive skin then you should exfoliate only three times a week.
Exfoliating make a difference because  while you exfoliate the skin, the pores are open making the air go through. You can use any Exfoliators, But would recommend the cleanser from Clarins (ONE -STEP GENTLE EXFOLIATING CLEANSER WITH ORANGE EXTRACT FOR ALL SKIN TYPES) I really like this cleanser because it does two things same time cleansing and exfoliating......

DETOXING.........AND LOSING WEIGHT.... by Temwani O’grady

Include Green tea after each meal and in between meals as part of your detox plan. Replace wheat with oats and dairy milk with soya or rice milk. Most people have intolerance to both, which causes boating and weight gain.

10 Strangest Beauty Tips of All Time

Reviewed by QualityHealth's Medical Advisory Board
It's often said that beauty is pain--and for a few adventurous souls, the pursuit of beauty can be weird, wacky, and downright dangerous. The unconventional tips they follow? Some may be familiar (dabbing toothpaste on a pimple), while others are simply disturbing (plumping lips via vacuum cleaner). Read on as we reveal the 10 most shocking beauty tips of all time.
·         1. Use Pepto-Bismol to clear up your complexion.
Enthusiasts claim this drugstore staple is more effective at blasting blemishes than pricey face masks. Although their claims remain debatable, the pink liquid does contain salicylic acid, an ingredient found in many popular acne treatments.
Use Saran Wrap to remove water weight.
·         Some women wrap their bodies in plastic to increase their body temperature and sweat away a few ounces, but they gain it all back after their next drink. In Bonnie Downing's Peculiar Beauty, Mary Tyler Moore admitted to wrapping her thighs in Saran Wrap to remove her water weight.

3. Put toothpaste on a pimple to make it disappear.

·         According to dermatologists, there's no evidence that toothpaste can shrink or eliminate blemishes. In fact, it may cause more harm than good, since several of its ingredients may irritate skin and make breakouts worse.

4. Turn back time with baby foreskin creams.

Some women go to extreme lengths to turn back the clock, like slathering their skin with $150 creams made from baby foreskins. Devotees, including Oprah Winfrey and Barbara Walters, say these formulas are like a virtual face-lift, but there's still no clinical research to support their claims.

5. Use Elmer's Glue to remove blackheads.

It's simple, in theory: Coat your face with a thin layer of adhesive, let dry, and peel off. But according to experts, Elmer's isn't an ideal solution, since it removes the skin's outer layer without replenishing it with blackhead-fighting ingredients.
6. Use a vacuum cleaner attachment to plump lips.
Believe it or not, some women have actually resorted to their vacuum cleaner attachments in an effort to achieve a temporarily plumper pout. Be warned: The risks of achieving fleeting fullness via Hoover may include bruising, discoloration, and broken blood vessels.
7. Scrub your face with kitty litter.
Fans of kitty-litter exfoliation claim the substance is basically clay, but bear in mind that clay represents only a certain percentage of the mix. Most of the formulas on store shelves contain a host of odor-controlling chemicals that could be harmful for skin.

8. Rub used coffee grounds on cellulite.

It might be tempting to think you can smooth dimpled thighs with friction, but dermatologists say this is a myth. The caffeine may also sound promising (it's the "active ingredient" in most anti-cellulite creams), but a 2000 report in the European Journal of Dermatology revealed that there's still no independent research that proves caffeine actually reduces cellulite.

9. Hang upside down to make your hair grow faster.

Are they serious? Sadly, yes. According to Internet reports, more than a few women have resorted to hanging upside down in an effort to grow long, flowing tresses. Not surprisingly, they're wasting their time: Gravity doesn't make hair grow any faster.

10. Soothe puffy eyes with Preparation H.

Fans of this method claim that the hemorrhoidal formula reduces undereye baggage by temporarily restricting the blood vessels, but most experts remain skeptical. What's more, if you accidentally get Prep H in your eye, it could result in permanent damage.

How To apply Make up!
There's particular order that should be done when applying make up, that way it gives you the best results, however read the label on the products as the manufactures will have the best ideas......
TYPICAL PROCEDURE IS AS FOLLOWS:
A) Moisturize and make up base if used  ( I normally use the make up base it makes the make up stays longer).
B) Foundation followed by concealer to cover up any darker shadows ( Bobbi Brown spots corrector is best if you do not like using concealers).
C) Translucent powder brushed over the top especially for an oily shin, some foundations however won't need any powder if they already contain it. I use the Smashbox camera ready full coverage foundation I think it's the best and it has got UVA\UVB SPF 15.
D) Eye shadow and blusher next, make sure you protect your cheeks when applying the eye shadow with either a tissue or a little extra translucent powder that can be blushed away later.
E) Now all the finishing touches, mascara, brow pencil, lip-liner and lipstick.

JLO TIP TO STAY TO GORGEOUS....

Today  I have been pretty much listening to Jennifer Lopez songs the whole day, it got me thinking, Jennifer Lopez is without doubt one of the most beautiful women of our times and while the gorgeous Latina has been around since her days as a fly girl, she only seems to get more gorgeous as she ages. One of her beauty secrets according to hubby Marc Anthony is that Jlo helps maintain her youth by staying happy! Might seem like a silly tip, but studies have actually proven that people who are happy age much slower than people who are not happy. One way to boost your mood is to smile more! A study out of UCLA shows that smiling more actually improves your mood! If you’re afraid of aging and have tried most tricks, this one is a must!!!
P.S: Do like what I do sometimes when I am depressed, I put on my fave music and dance my heart out, nobody wants to age early ( well I don't ) life is too short as we all know. Beauty attracts the people first and personality follows....

We don't really take good care of our faces. If we did, most of us wouldn't live in a city, we'd get 8 hours sleep every, single night and we would have monthly facials - religiously. We would exfoliate daily, stop squeezing pimples and always wear sunscreen. We would live in a climate that is neither too hot nor too cold, and only ever drink water.
As we are less than perfect, let's instead concentrate on the important things we can do that beg little time or effort and will save our skins - literally.
  • Buy a good facial moisturizer that works as an eye cream too. And buy a separate night cream - they do two different jobs and therefore contain different ingredients.
  • Use a great cleanser that mixes with water and contains exfoliating beads. Get two jobs done at once. Use it every, single evening.
  • If your face cream or foundation doesn't contain sunscreen, mix half and half so you are always protected from the suns harmful rays. Yes, even on a cloudy day.
  • Slick a vaseline stick over your lips before going to sleep. Chapped lips look awful and feel worse.
  • Do the same each morning, only use a vaseline stick that contains sunscreen before applying lipstick.
  • Mix your face cream with a tiny dollop of facial self-tanner. You'll always look healthy without the color looking fake or streaky.
  • Apply your face cream when your skin is warm from washing and the pores are open. It sinks deep down and gets to work where it really matters.
  • Avoid solariums, After all, we all know of the cancer risk, right? Some things are just not worth it.

Beauty tips for the face that women shouldn't ignore.....

A dry brush exfoliation can be done in the morning before you shower. It eliminates dead skin cells and allows the skin to detox (skin is the largest organ of elimination). Dry brush exfoliation also improves lymph and blood circulation and decreases puffiness. An added benefit is that the gentle pressure is calming to the nervous system. To give yourself a dry brush exfoliation, you'll need a soft, natural bristle brush. You get this brush in body shops or any beauty stores... you can quickly start seeing the results after 2-3 weeks, your skin will glow and it will feel smooth....
