A humble 25 year old lady born and raised in Soweto, currently studying for post graduate at the University of Johannesburg in accounting and holds a BCOM in accounting, Dorah was raised by a single parent and loves modeling, She has entered a Miss SA beauty pageant twice now and will says this year it was her last time to enter the glittering beauty pageant. She first entered the dazzling beauty pageant In 2008, as she has strong will to make a difference in people’s life. She is actively involved in her community and is a member of the Jabulani Flats Youth Committee and sings in her Church choir. Her other hobbies include reading and sport. She schools full time and models part time with G3 Modeling agency based in SA, and plans to work KPMG after finishing her post graduate. Dorah recently got her TEFL Certificate and has plans to move to move and work in other country if her modeling career in SA doesn’t go as far as she hopes. Our very own Miss Loshaq caught up with Miss Dora Mtetwa and had a heart to heart interview here is how some of it went:
Loshaq; Why do you think you didn’t win this year again after making it into the 12 finalist?
Dorah: I wanted Motivate them but it means I was not what they wanted
Loshaq: Please expound some more on that?
Dorah : I guess I was not what the judges wanted..I'm a strong young women who is motivated who believes that I can inspire others. I'm a hard worker who worked hard to get my degree with my bursary. I will continue making a difference in other people’s lives. My university and I go to schools here in SA to encourage and inform young people the importance of studying.
Loshaq: Where do you get your motivation from apart from God.?
Dorah: From reading motivational books and I just have a drive to succeed, so that I be the best of what I can be.
Loshaq: Do you have a role model?
Dorah: Yes my two role model Joel Osteen and Basetsane khumalo
Loshaq. What are your plans for the future are you going to continue pursuing the Miss SA Title..?
Dorah: No I will not enter again, but I would like to model and see where it gets me, in the mean time I am focused to finish my post graduate studies.
Loshaq: I gotta ask you this, as stunning as you are you must have a boyfriend or Husband…
Dorah No I don’t have.. I have someone that I care about but it’s not official
Loshaq: How do you spend your leisure time?
Dorah: Movies, going out for sushi with friends. And going out with the girls at night.I love singing but I sing in a church choir. I love watching soccer, rugby, cricket, boxing and wrestling. I love the adrenaline you experience while watching sport and the feelings that arise in you because of the tension between the teams. It showcases the player’s strength, concentration and determination to win...and with the supporters cheering for their teams...the feeling truly is amazing!
Loshaq: what kind music gets your groove on?
Dorah: My musical passion lies in opera music. Musicians such as Josh Groben, Il Divo, Pavarotti and Michael Bubble just know how to strum my heart strings!
In all honesty...I’m a romantic at heart.
When I do want to relax a bit however, there is nothing better to listen to than some RnB. At other times again though, when I need to keep myself motivated, it’s gospel music that keeps my engine going.
Loshaq: Favourite food:
Dorah: I love Italian food and Chinese...but also love a nice home cooked meal every now and again...although I must confess, that I can’t live without my guilty pleasure of Debonairs Pizza once a month
Loshaq: Who is your favorite actors/actresses and movies.
Dorah: I love Terry Perry movies, Tasha Smith (why did I get married) Denzel Washington
Loshaq: Do you feel any different that you were raised by a single parent?
Dorah: No I don't God has been the father I never had
Loshaq: You think your life would have been any better if your father was around?
Dorah: It affected me so much during my High School years, but the more I matured the better I understood that not all of us can have both parents; however, I personally believe a child should be raised by both parents who will give love and support but if both parents can't be together that should not be an issue as I have turned out pretty well with only being raised by my mum. One parent is capable of fulfilling the role of both parties..I know my answer is vague, but my point is that my mom is an amazing woman who serve God and that's where I find peace..she is my best friend
Loshaq: Anything else you would like to add..
Dorah: I love being around people, making people feel loved and appreciated. I'm driven and a hard worker who believes everyone should go after their dreams and never give up
Loshaq: Adivice for young people?
Dorah: Learn to love yourself, and appreciate your worth. Go out the in the world and shine and never let anyone else tell you that your not beautiful enough. God made everyone perfectly and go out there and find what makes you, uniquely you
